TEC 2016 GCSE News
TEC STUDENTS EXCEED EXPECTATIONS AGAIN!
Principal, Simon Turney, expressed his delight this year as Year 11 students achieved the 'Best Ever' results in the school's history for the second successive year and for the third year in the last four.
Of particular note this year are outstanding results in English closely followed by another year's strong maths results.
Outcomes for students in vocational and practical subjects were also exceptional with many achieving 100% success rates, as was the case in Biology, Physics Chemistry and RE.
Overall headlines for TEC students show 78% achieving A*to C grades in English and 60% performing at this level in maths. 58% passed both English and maths with a C grade or better which is now a key comparative measure by which schools are judged and 54% achieved a C grade or better in at least 5 subjects including English and Maths.
Mr Turney also said that there is still further analysis to be undertaken to establish the levels of progress students have made which for TEC and all other schools cannot be done accurately until national outcomes for all students are made available to schools. That said, given the grades achieved, our expectations are that progress will be outstanding for many students.
Mr Turney concluded by thanking and congratulating staff and students for their hard work and excellent achievements.
